About True Moon Pictures
True Moon Pictures is a North-East-based independent production company founded by Carley Armstrong, an emerging producer and writer with two decades of experience in the film and television industry. The company is committed to telling bold, socially conscious stories, rooted in underrepresented voices, working-class experiences, and regional authenticity.
With a growing slate of films and projects in development, True Moon Pictures is now steadily emerging as an original and regionally rooted production company, working closely with a diverse team, of both established and emerging talent.

Carley Armstrong
Carley Armstrong is a emerging British producer and founder of True Moon Pictures, with two decades of experience in high-end TV, film, and theatre. Focused on bold genre driven stories, she supports underrepresented voices and working-class stories, and her work blends realism and genre with heart and urgency. Her short films have won dozens of awards globally and her recent proof of concept film A Woman of Good Abilities starring Vinette Robinson and James Nelson Joyce will begin its festival journey in 2026.
Most recently her feature length dark fairytale horror ‘Little Bird’ (developed on the UK Next Wave Genre Lab with film constellation and backed by the BFI) won Most Promising Project and the €25,000 prize at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, as part of the European Genre Forum. A PGGB, BAFTA Connect Producer, and BFI Creative Producer Lab alumna, she is represented by WGM Atlantic and champions Northern talent through international collaboration. In February she will participate in the Rotterdam IFFR Producing Lab as one of only two producers being backed by the British Film Council.
